Beena Chotai

Beena Chotai serves as the Chief Financial Officer at ICICI Venture, bringing deep-rooted expertise since 1993 across fund structuring, exits, and regulatory engagement. Over her extensive tenure, she has played a pivotal role in setting up and managing several domestic and cross-border funds, including spearheading the restructuring of a multi-country investment fund — a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Indian PE-VC landscape.

Currently, Beena oversees accounting, audit, taxation, and treasury functions, while also contributing to internal controls and portfolio monitoring. She is widely recognized for crafting tax-efficient cross-border structures and for her hands-on involvement in industry policy-making.

Her contributions to the regulatory ecosystem are notable — having been part of the Dr. Lahiri Committee set up by SEBI, and through continued representation to authorities like SEBI, RBI, and CBDT. Beena is a chartered accountant and has completed an Executive Development Program at Harvard University, USA, in addition to participating in industry-led programs by the European Venture Capital Association, UK.
